Dancing with us is not just about learning a skill; it’s about becoming part of a supportive and diverse community where everyone is welcomed and accepted.
As part of our recreational program, dancers have the opportunity to participate in examinations through the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. We take pride in our school’s remarkable 100% pass rate in these examinations, reflecting the personal growth and achievements of our students. To promote safe dance practices, we encourage dancers to take at least one classical ballet class and one body conditioning class each week, fostering both technique and confidence.

Royal Academy of Dance Ballet
At En Pointe Theatre Arts, we embark on a remarkable journey through the world of ballet, welcoming students from the age of 2 to adults.
Our Tiny Dancers take their first steps into this enchanting adventure, mastering foundational classical ballet techniques. As they skip, gallop, and learn essential ballet positions, their imaginations soar, exploring vibrant worlds—from jungles to Disney and even the North Pole, fostering their creativity along the way. It's a journey that fills parents with pride as they witness their children's progress.
Beginning at age 4.5, dancers dive into the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus with Pre-Primary in Dance, progressing through a dynamic Graded Examination system that evolves with them.
Early learners at the Pre-Primary and Primary levels typically engage in one class per week, though many aspiring dancers choose to take on more. As they journey through the graded system, a commitment to two or more classes per week is encouraged, paving the way for steady progress and greater achievements.
Our graded syllabus includes character dancing, a unique component that introduces our students to steps and styles from various European countries. This not only broadens their movement repertoire but also fosters confidence and teamwork as they learn to embody different characters and styles.
Our examinations offer tangible goals, significantly enhancing dancers’ confidence as they celebrate their successes. These milestones reflect their growth within the art of dance, and our qualifications are internationally recognized, OFQUAL-regulated in line with the UK school system, and acknowledged by Qualifications Wales. This global recognition ensures our students receive a prestigious ballet education.
The Royal Academy of Dance embodies a vibrant community that champions inclusivity and inspires the world to dance.
At En Pointe Theatre Arts, we adopt a holistic approach to ballet training. Our dancers learn not just the beauty of movement but also the significance of physical fitness through body conditioning classes. From the RAD Pre-Primary Ballet curriculum, skipping is integrated into every class as a warm-up, ensuring our dancers are vibrant, healthy, and skilled.

Contemporary and Creative Movement
Our Contemporary and Creative movement classes are the school’s syllabus and are designed to nurture creativity while challenging dancers to explore new techniques and movement patterns. Going against the norm to explore their bodies’ full potential.
Our classes not only improve muscular strength and flexibility but also foster a deep connection between the dancer's emotional state and their movements. This emphasis on self-expression and exploration takes dancers on a transformative journey of self-discovery, inspiring personal growth.
Contemporary Dance examinations are available for dancers ages 12 years and over with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing if dancers wish. However, typically, this provides a more structured approach to contemporary dance, as there are established criteria. Therefore, we encourage the non-syllabus structure alongside the syllabus structure in classes, as it allows for more freedom and creativity in movement exploration.
We encourage dancers to participate in at least one ballet class and one body conditioning class, alongside their contemporary and creative movement classes, where possible. This not only promotes safe dance practice but also enhances dance technique, giving dancers a sense of confidence and reassurance.
